Clayfield College Careers and Pathways Hub
The Careers & Pathways Department provides up-to-date information on career choices and pathways in school and beyond for all our students, but the programmes offered cater specifically to our Years 10, 11 and 12 cohorts.
The ‘Get Ready for Work’ program for our Year 10 students prepares them for their subject selection process. This involves identifying their strengths and weaknesses, their aptitudes and interests and potential career pathways. These activities prepare the students for their SET (Senior Education and Training) planning process. This ultimately leads to subject selection interviews.
The Exit Preparation sessions for our Year 11 and 12 students and includes scheduled visits from universities, TAFE, Australian Defence Force and industry professionals.
The students create a career profile, explore study and further training options, explore occupations and industries, write a resume and draft letters of application.
The Careers and Pathways Department, in conjunction with the Clayfield College Foundation runs the Women’s Industry Network event in Term 1 in which former Clayfield College students come to the school to share their career journeys with our students.
The other major event in the calendar is the Clayfield College Futures expo which brings together representatives from universities, TAFE, other education institutions and the Australian Defence Force to share their expertise and information with our students.
