2024 ATAR Results

Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

The College is pleased to share with you the ATAR results* for the Class of 2024. In a year where the College's Year 12 Leaders chose ‘2024, Your Year to Be More’ as their guiding theme, today’s results affirm that following a passion and choosing to ‘be more’ fuels perseverance, and ultimately success. Congratulations Class of 2024, the Clayfield family are so proud of you and give thanks to the lasting impact and legacy you have created for both current and future students.

The Class of 2024 worked diligently all year to achieve their personal and academic achievements. This is reflected in 20% of students achieving an ATAR greater than or equal to 95. Other significant academic achievements include:

  • Highest ATAR of 99.55
  • Median ATAR of 85
  • 66% achieved an A or B Grade within subjects
  • 8% of ATAR candidates obtained an ATAR greater than or equal to 99
  • 12% of ATAR candidates obtained an ATAR greater than or equal to 97
  • 68% of ATAR candidates obtained an ATAR greater than or equal to 80
  • 45% of students achieved VET Qualifications

The College would particularly like to acknowledge two students for their exceptional individual achievements.

Hana Costello is the ATAR DUX, obtaining the highest ATAR score across the Class of 2024. Impressively, she achieved A Grades in all six subjects including Chemistry, English, Mathematical Methods, Physics, Specialist Mathematics and Japanese. She also attained a Perfect Score of 100 in Japanese.

Dimity Whitaker is the College DUX and achieved A Grades across all six subjects including Chemistry, English, Mathematical Methods, Music, Physics and Specialist Mathematics. Dimity also attained a Perfect Score of 100 in Music and a Perfect Score in the English External Assessment.

Hana and Dimity were both awarded the QCE Certificate of Academic Commendation, fitting recognition for their outstanding results.

Principal Dr Andrew Cousins spoke about the diversity of study undertaken by the Class of 2024, "What strikes me about the Class of 2024 is that they were driven by their passions, and chose to study subjects that genuinely interested them. They delved into diverse areas such as the Creative Arts, Science, Technology, Business, Physical Education, Languages, Humanities and Vocational Studies, each one pursuing their unique path with unwavering dedication. In doing so, they inspired others to follow their dreams and embrace their true potential."

The release of today’s results will likely coincide with the publishing of league tables. As previously stated by Dr Cousins, league tables are often a source of frustration and angst in the education community because they inevitably seek to classify schools by a set of data that does not capture a lot of what makes students and schools special. We have elected to not share our results with media outlets and instead publish the Class of 2024 Spotlight, which provides a comprehensive picture of achievement and success across all aspects of College life. At Clayfield College, we are firmly focused on providing outstanding opportunities for all students to let their light shine across all endeavours be they academic, the arts, sport or service. The Class of 2024 is a wonderful example of success across a range of disciplines.

"I am confident that the Class of 2024 will continue to ‘be more’ - ensuring that their light continues to shine brightly in the world. Even more than that, I believe they have the resilience to ensure that those around them shine as well," said Principal, Dr Andrew Cousins.

A summary of Clayfield’s 2024 ATAR success can be found in the Class of 2024 Spotlight publication.
