Our Clayfield College QGSSSA Swimming Team made waves at this year’s championships, demonstrating resilience and our Clayfield spirit! With over 42 personal bests in the Freestyle individual and relay events alone, the team’s dedication to training and teamwork truly shined.
Among the many impressive performances, several athletes secured podium finishes. Holly Steinback stole the spotlight, winning a gold medal in the 12 Years and Under 50m Breaststroke. Meghan Guthrie-Quinn for 17 Years and Over 50m Breaststroke, Fabienne Gri for 13 Years 50m Breaststroke, and Coco Kawasaki for 14 Years C Division 50m Freestyle, all earned silver medals, showcasing their speed and ability in the pool. Our relay team, featuring Mali Schwarz, Meghan Guthrie-Quinn, Keira Coscarella, and Eleanor Myers, made third place in the 17 Years and Over Medley Relay, while Fabienne Gri also secured a bronze in the 13 Years A Division 50m Freestyle.
In addition to the medal winners, commendable fourth-place finishes were achieved by Holly Steinback for 12 Years and Under 100m Freestyle, Keira Coscarella for Open 100m Breaststroke, and Mali Schwarz for 17 Years and Over D Division 50m Freestyle, further exemplifying the team’s depth and talent.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated coaches and the Clayfield Sports Department for their unwavering support and guidance. And of course, a special shout-out to our Clayfield Croc Squad. The energy and cheers echoed throughout the stadium, pushing our swimmers to give their best.
